Your rights under Australian Consumer Law
Under the Australian Consumer Law, our products come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
A product failure is considered major if:
- The product would not have been bought if the problem had been known;
- It differs significantly from what was described or shown;
- It is substantially unfit for its intended purpose and cannot easily be rectified; or
- It is unsafe.
Damaged, defective, or incorrect items
If your order arrives damaged, defective, or with the wrong items, please contact us within 7 days of delivery at hello@courta.com.au.
Please include:
- Your order number;
- A description of the issue; and
- Clear photos of the damage or incorrect item(s).
Once reviewed, we will offer a replacement, store credit, or full refund as appropriate and in line with your ACL rights.
How to lodge a return
- Contact us first: Email hello@courta.com.au with your order number and reason for return. Please do not send goods back without prior approval.
- Receive return approval: We’ll reply with return instructions and the correct return address.
- Pack and send: Securely package the goods. We recommend using a tracked service for approved returns.
- Refund or replacement: Once received and inspected, we’ll process the agreed remedy.
What we cannot remedy
Courta does not offer change-of-mind returns. Remedies under this policy are limited to faulty, defective, or incorrectly supplied goods as required by the ACL.
The following are not covered:
- Products that have been installed, cut, or modified;
- Damage caused by misuse, incorrect installation, or failure to follow our installation guidelines;
- Minor variations in colour or texture consistent with the product description; and
- Damage caused during return transit where goods were not adequately packaged.
Refund processing
Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method used at checkout.
- Credit / Debit card: usually 5–10 business days after approval.
- PayPal / Buy Now Pay Later: usually 3–7 business days after approval.
We’ll notify you by email once your refund has been processed.
Shipping costs on returns
Where a return is required because of a fault, defect, or incorrect supply, Courta will cover return shipping costs or arrange collection where appropriate.
Questions and disputes
If you have a concern about an order or need help with a return, please contact us first and we’ll do our best to resolve it quickly and fairly.
If we are unable to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, you may contact the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) at accc.gov.au or your state’s consumer affairs office.
